Before they begin to work in the clay, Lianne and Paul
sketch out the designs and color choices on paper. Each
piece is sculpted by hand from white polymer clay
(no colored clay or molds are used when making the
ornaments), and then distinctive “swirls” are added to
give them style and texture. Once baked, the ornaments'
true beauty is revealed when they are hand-painted.
Lianne and Paul’s expert use of color bring character and
style to all the pieces. Chiffon ribbon is added to each of the
ornaments, giving them an elegant finishing touch. They are
then signed and dated with year of creation. Each Swirly Designs ornament is unique and no two are exactly alike.
